COLOPHON
The rules this site follows, written down so that it can remain consistent with itself.
THE MARK
The logo is a hollow red circle, written as ◯. Its diameter is exactly the cap height of the text beside it — the height of an uppercase letter — and its bottom edge sits on the baseline. After the mark, one space, then the title. This holds at every size, from the home page down to the footer.
TITLES
- File titles and section titles are set in FULL UPPERCASE.
- The site name is the one exception: Original, first letter capitalised.
- Labels, dates, sizes, and versions are set in small uppercase monospace with wide tracking.
COLOUR
White and red, and shades of red. Nothing else. The palette in full:
#ffffff— background#cc0000— primary red: headings, marks, links#7d0000— deep red: body text#a80000— visited links#f0d2d2— hairlines and rules#fdf5f5— subtle tinted blocks
There is no dark mode. The site is white by definition, not by preference.
TYPE
System fonts only: the reader's own sans-serif for prose, the reader's own monospace for labels and metadata. No web fonts are downloaded, and no page loads external resources.
FILES AND FONTS
What the reader sees is what the server sends: everything is plain HTML and one stylesheet, generated at build time. Small files are stored in the repository; large ones on GitHub Releases. Checksums (SHA-256) are printed beside the files that have them.
